Setting Intentions: Easy, fill in the blank intentions

Setting Intentions: Easy, fill in the blank intentions

If you’ve ever found yourself waking up on the wrong side of the bed or overwhelmed with the to-do list of your day, setting an intention can help you shift out of a negative mindset. We love to set daily intentions to connect inwards and help guide our choices for the day. By setting intentions, you can create a purposeful focus for how you want your day, week, month or even year to go. The objective of intention setting is not trying to make something specific happen, just simply focusing your attention on how you interact with whatever the day brings.

Begin by taking a few conscious breaths before asking yourself:

I want to feel ____________

I want to be _____________

I am grateful for ____________

I will practice ______________

Write them down somewhere that’s easy for you to look at throughout the day like a journal, a sticky note or in your phone. When things get busy or you become frustrated, simply reconnect with your intentions. Remember that using intentions to guide your choices is a continual work in progress and it’s okay and human to mess up. It’s helpful to reflect on your intentions at the end of the day and tomorrow, begin the process again :)
